Following a week of wet weather, Scotland will heat up once again - with temperatures set to reach their highest so far this year. This past week forecasters have issued multiple yellow weather warnings including alerts for wind and rain.
As parts of Scotland endure tail end rains of Storm Noa - which has torn through the UK - Scots can expect clearer skies from next Monday. Thanks to a bout of high pressure, the Met Office is predicting highs of 18C for the south, but this could rise even further to 20C.
This means Scots could get the chance to bask in higher temperatures than in the sunny Spanish city of Barcelona. Meteorologist Claire Nasir said in Thursday's forecast: "The outlooks suggests that for the first time this year, we could reach 20C."
The Met Office says showery rain will persist over parts of Scotland on Thursday, with temperatures falling to 5C before dipping to freezing overnight. The chilly weather will be most prominent in rural areas in the north of the country.
Friday will see light winds and some showers, but they will be "scattered and slow moving". This is set to settle by Saturday making for clear skies and temperatures ranging from 12-14C on Saturday.
By Sunday, a high weather front will meet with high pressure, bringing some cloud and light bouts of drizzle to the North, "particularly on higher ground". However, despite high winds, it will be a warm day for most of Scotland as temperatures are set to reach up to 17C.
Claire Nassir added: "As the wind hops over the Highlands towards places such as the Moray Firth. We will see temperatures up to around 17C."
On Wednesday, Storm Noa battered the south of the UK, bringing up to 96Mmph winds - resulting in travel chaos, power cuts and damage to buildings and structures.
