DWP announces dates the second £324 cost of living payment will be paid to Tax Credit claimants

The DWP has announced when Tax Credits claimants will get their second Cost of Living Payment.

Those who qualify for the payment through Tax Credits only get their second instalment later than those who are eligible by claiming low-income benefits.

Tax Credit claimants who are eligible for the £324 payment - which follows a £326 payment made in September - will be paid between November 23 and November 30, the DWP confirmed in an update on Thursday October 20.

To qualify, Tax Credit claimants must have been registered between August 26 and September 25.

People on low income benefits, such as Universal Credit, Income Support and Income Related JSA will get their second payment earlier, between November 8 and November 23.

However, some may get paid later. The DWP states: "Your payment might come later, for example if you are awarded a qualifying benefit at a later date or you change the account your benefit or tax credits are paid into. You will still be paid the Cost of Living Payment automatically and do not need to contact DWP or HMRC."
