Ex-World champion boxer Tony Bellew is a massive fan of young NI football star

Tony Bellew is going to miss Isaac Price at Goodison Park.

The young Northern Ireland midfielder has agreed a move from Everton to Standard Liege and will link up with his new club when his current Toffees deal expires this month.

Everton had offered the 19-year-old a new deal, but the lure of regular first-team football in the Belgian Pro League has tempted Price away from Merseyside.

The teenager has been at Everton since the age of seven and made three senior appearances. He stepped up to the first-team squad during Frank Lampard’s time in charge.

Now Price is set for a brand new challenge in Europe after agreeing a deal that will see him remain at the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium until June 2027. He is one of six players leaving Everton's senior and Under 23 squad this summer.

Former WBC World cruiserweight champion Bellew is a massive Toffees fan, and he is devastated the club have allowed a young talent like Price to leave Goodison.

Responding to Price's Instagram post confirming his exit, Bellew said: “Best of luck mate! Can’t believe we’ve let you go!”

Price started Northern Ireland's last two European qualifiers against Denmark and Kazakhstan respectively. Despite losing both games 1-0 the teenage midfielder impressed.

Speaking after the Kazakhstan game, Price explained his reasons for leaving Everton for Standard Liege.

He said: "I can’t wait to go over and get started. Hopefully, I can improve a lot more over there and in a different side of the game. It’s a lot more technical."
