Manchester United have been told that they have 'no chance' of signing Declan Rice, according to former England international and West Ham coach Stuart Pearce. Rice has long been a target for United, who are keen to strengthen their central positions this summer.
But it's looked like a move for Rice is dead in the water ever since Hammers boss David Moyes placed a £100m price tag on the England international, with Chelsea also seemingly not interested in paying the price put on his signatureither.
However, reports have suggested that the 23-year-old has rejected three contracts at the London club and would be open to a move away. But the market has been quiet for him so far this transfer window.

And while United have prioritised other players in the window, such as Frenkie de Jong a future move for Rice is tough to rule out. However, Pearce — despite no longer being affiliated with West Ham, after stepping down as first team coach in May — is doing just that.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Pearce said of United signing Rice: "No. No chance. It’s irrelevant [the size of the bid]. If you’re talking [Kalvin] Phillips going for £45m and [Raheem] Sterling going for £45m, what are West Ham going to do with £45m? It’s a waste of time. An absolute waste of time.
"David [Moyes] has been adamant and the board have been adamant that Declan is going nowhere and David is going to build a team around him. He is so crucial. I have loved the last two years working with the kid. Watching him play, watching him flourish, captaining the team.
"He’s integral for England now, really integral. You take him out of that midfield, as we saw in the Hungary game. All of a sudden, 4-0 defeat, we got a little bit exposed. There is not a chance he is leaving.”
