Ex-UFC star Jorge Masvidal teases boxing match in early 2024, says Paul vs. Danis ‘was just f*cking bad’

Jorge Masvidal is eyeing a boxing match in 2024.

Masvidal retired from MMA after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April. He has since enjoyed life as a promoter for his multiple organizations, including Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA.

However, it appears “Gamebred” already has the itch to compete – but in the boxing ring. He hinted that he already has something lined up soon.

“It’s a yes,” Masvidal told ESPN. “And my yes is yes and my no is no, and I’m telling you that’s a yes. I’ll tell you this much: It’s not this year. No names right now, but I can tell you it’s early next year, and I can tell you somebody is going to get killed.”

Masvidal has competed in the boxing ring once professionally, earning a majority decision win in 2015. An avid boxing fan, especially of Roberto Duran, Masvidal was heavily disappointed with the exhibition bout between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis, which took place earlier this month at Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card. Paul won the bout by disqualification after Danis shot for a takedown, which triggered chaos involving security.

“Just because it has that moniker boxing on it, I expect so much more,” Masvidal said. “I expect these guys to be in better shape, a little bit meaner, carry themselves with that boxing nostalgia, which I didn’t see it. I couldn’t even watch the fight, man. It was just f*cking bad. It’s a disrespect to boxing. I’m kind of upset Logan didn’t f*cking knock him (Danis) dead. I really wanted Logan to knock him dead. So I’m kind of mad at Logan. I hope he sends me my money back, you know? Not that I paid for it, but still.”
