Ex-Supreme Court Judge Arun Mishra appointed as Ombudsman of BCCI

Mumbai: Retired Supreme Court Judge Arun Mishra has been appointed as the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer of the BCCI, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

Earlier, he served as Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Justice (retd) Arun Mishra completed his tenure as Chairman on June 1, last year.

Arun Mishra to replace Vineet Saran
He will replace retired Supreme Court judge Justice Vineet Saran as the Ombudsman and ethics officer. Vineet Saran was appionted to the role in 2021

Mishra takes Oath as SC judge in 2014
Mishra took over as a Supreme Court judge in 2014 and retired from the Apex Court in September, 2020.  He has also served as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta and the Rajasthan High Courts.

Arun Mishra was born on September 3, 1955. He was elected as youngest Chairman of Bar Council of India in 1998. Also Vice-Chairman of BCI and Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council. In the Bar Council, he worked for improvement of legal education.
