Former Scotland international Kevin McNaughton has been left in disbelief after receiving a graphic sex advice pamphlet from the NHS following hip replacement surgery.
McNaughton took to Twitter on Thursday to share the amusing pamphlet he was given after his operation with his thousands of followers.
The Dundee native began his career at Aberdeen before winning promotion to the Premier League with Cardiff City in 2013.
He has been capped four times for Scotland.
Tweeting from hospital, the 39-year-old uploaded an image of the front cover of a pamphlet he had been given titled: "Safe sexual positions following a hip replacement".
He accompanied the image by writing: "Couldn't make it up", before he began reading the advice contained in the booklet.
After reading through the advice, McNaughton later shared a paid which detailed sexual positions to be avoided, showing four cartoons of the prohibited positions.
The reasons for not doing them were listed as "too much hip flexion", "too much hip abduction flexion and rotation" and "too much hip rotation".
McNaughton included the hashtag "#toomuchrotation" as he shared the graphic advice with his followers.
One fan joked: "What positions can you do?" Whilst another added: "Not sure I could muster some of those positions and I haven't had a hip replacement."
McNaughton spent nine years at Cardiff during his playing career, winning the Championship title in 2013 as the club reached the Premier League for the first time.
He went on to make five appearances in the top flight for Cardiff.
He retired for good in 2020 after two years with Scottish minnows Kirriemuir Thistle.
Two years on from retiring, McNaughton now sells his own paintings on his website, having also recently worked as a youth coach at local side Dundee.
He also did a stint as assistant manager at Forfar Athletic in the 2017/18 season.
