Ex-Rangers star Malik Tillman blasted for going AWOL at PSV

Former Rangers star Malik Tillman has been blasted by his manager and OWN teammates for going AWOL at PSV.

The ex-Gers attacker disrupted his side's pre-match plans before a crucial Eredivisie clash against FC Twente.

Manager Peter Bosz was left with no choice but to drop the American international for the match, which resulted in a 3-1 win for PSV.

He publicly slammed Tillman for letting his team down after he showed up late.

PSV's players were instructed to turn up at 5pm, three hours before kick-off.

The ex-Rangers star was nowhere to be seen, and so the pre-match team meeting got underway without him.

As it turned out, it wasn't Tillman's first offence either, adding to Bosz's anger.

Tillman replaced Ismael Saibari - who was also guilty of similar behaviours earlier in the season - with around 20 minutes left on the clock. He was issued a fine by the club.

"What applies to Saibari also applies to him (Tillman)," Bosz said post-match. "Of course, it is the responsibility of the player himself.

"They are all young guys, Malik too, so we will certainly have to help them with that. But they have to learn this quickly."

Former Barcelona and Newcastle striker Luuk de Jong was less than impressed.

He said: "I feel like it’s letting the team down a bit.

"We demand everything from each other every day to be there for one another. It’s happened to other players before, so you know what the consequences are.

“You need to be on time for the team, or there will be consequences. It does have repercussions, including for us. That's really unfortunate."
