Ex-Rangers coach departs non-league side after horrific run of form

Former Rangers coach Harry Watling has left his position as Ebbsfleet United manager after just under three months in charge.

The 35-year-old has left the club sitting bottom of the National League in 24th spot. They currently have nine points after 21 matches and are 11 points from safety.

Watling took up the role of manager on September 12 this year.

However, after enduring a dismal run of just one win in 15 matches - which came in his first game in charge - a parting of the ways has taken place.

A short club statement reads: "Following discussions today between the club and Harry Watling, it has been mutually agreed to part ways.

"The club wishes to place on record our thanks to Harry for his efforts since joining in September.

"Josh Wright will take the role of first team manager going forward, assisted by David Kerslake."

Watling was one of Michael Beale's backroom team during his time at Rangers between 2022 and 2023.
