Ex-Rangers ace John Fleck rushed to hospital after falling ill during warm-up

Former Rangers and Scotland midfielder John Fleck was rushed to the hospital tonight after falling ill during his team's warm-up.

The 33-year-old plays for Chesterfield in England's League Two.

Fleck was stretchered off the pitch during the warm-up ahead of tonight's game against Doncaster Rovers.

The game, which was scheduled to start at 7.45pm, was delayed by 10 minutes as emergency services rushed to the SMH Group Stadium.

A short statement by Chesterfield reads: “We can confirm that John Fleck has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after being taken ill during the pre-match warm-up.”

Fleck joined Chesterfield as a free agent last summer.

The ex-Scotland internationalist came through the ranks at Rangers before moving on to also play for Sheffield United, Blackpool, Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers.
