Manchester United have been told that Napoli star Kim Min-jae would be a “suitable” signing as the Red Devils aim to secure his services.
Erik ten Hag 's side have been linked with a move for the South Korean centre-back for some time. Reports in Italy in December suggested that the Old Trafford side had a move pencilled in for the summer.
Despite Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane striking up a brilliant partnership this term, the club’s defensive department could be set for a shuffle around. Captain Harry Maguire is facing an uncertain future with the Red Devils after falling out of favour under Ten Hag.
Victor Lindelof also has just a year remaining on his current contract so could be moved on sooner rather than later. That could well see United aim to add another central defender to their squad - that man potentially being Kim.
Ahead of a potential switch, former Napoli sporting director Carlo Jacomuzzi has suggested that the 26-year-old would be an excellent addition for the Red Devils. Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo via Area Napoli, he said: “Kim and United? It would be very convenient. Manchester United must improve a lot and someone like the Korean would be a suitable profile.”
Kim has shone in Naples this season following a move from Turkish giants Fenerbahce. United’s Premier League rivals Tottenham have also been linked with a swoop but the defender has assured that he is not taking notice of speculation.

Quoted by You Quiz on the Block, he said: "There are a lot of transfer stories around me, but I've only been at Napoli for six months. I've avoided interviews, and one of the reasons is that the rumours about me disturb me."
Interestingly, Kim is not the only Napoli star that United have been linked with ahead of the summer. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is also on the Red Devils’ summer shopping list as Ten Hag aims to add a big-name forward to his squad.
The 24-year-old has scored 21 goals in all competitions so far this season and is among a number of strikers reportedly being considered.
Director Aurelio De Laurentiis has already issued a warning to United and any other interested parties that the Italian club will not be forced into selling. “I can tell you that Osimhen is not for sale,” he said last month.
“Our players are in demand, but I don't have to sell anyone. We don't have any debts.”
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is also among the forwards that United would be interested in signing with just a year remaining on his contract in North London.
