
Mumbai: Former Mumbai captain Milind Rege passed away after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Rege, who was also the selector of the Mumbai, is survived by his wife and a son.
He Took 126 First-Class Wickets
The spinner took 126 wickets in 52 first-class matches between his 11 years career spanned between 1966-67 and 1977-78.

He also made 1532 runs with an average of 23.56 in his 52 apperances. After retiring from the game, he was associated with Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) in various roles, including selector and chief of selector many times.
According to reports, he had suffered a heart attack at the age of 26 but returned to the action and led Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.

Rage was among the selection committe when Sachin Tendulkar was selected to the Ranji Trophy squad in 1988.

Two-Minutes Silence Observed
During a Ranji Trophy semifinal match between Mumbai and Vidarbha being played in Nagpur, players observed silence as a mark of respect. The Mumbai players also wore black armbands as well.
MCA Condoles Demise
Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Milind Rege. A stalwart of Mumbai cricket, he served with dedication as Captain, Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee, Managing Committee Member, and Advisor, Mumbai Cricket Association said.
