Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson believes Bruno Guimaraes has earned his chance to play in the Premier League.
The former Brazilian international believes Newcastle's new marquee signing has performed well for the Brazilian national side and the move is a 'great chance' for Guimaraes to 'progress his career in Europe.'
The 24-year-old was part of the Brazil side that won gold at the 2020 Olympics before making the €40million move to St. James' Park in the January transfer window.
'Newcastle could easily win the title before Manchester United', says Trevor Sinclair
Guimaraes has been made to bide his time as a result of Newcastle's recent run of form. The Brazilian has made two appearances from the bench and fans are excited to see what he's capable of.
Speaking with Paddy Power, Kleberson said: “I am so happy that Bruno Guimaraes has taken the challenge of going to Newcastle United. He was at a big club in Europe and has performed well for the Brazilian national team.
"He has earned his chance to play in the Premier League for an ambitious club that wants to win trophies.
“Newcastle are a big name in the Premier League. They are a big club that wants to win the Premier League and their new owners want to invest in the side.
“Guimaraes has great speed and fantastic positioning, and this is a great chance for him to progress his career in Europe.”
