Pre-season remains several weeks away, but these are important moments ahead of next season as Bristol Rovers and their rivals start to shape their squads.
The transfer market in League One is not yet fully up to speed, but it has been a busy week with players deciding their futures, clubs scouring the market and coaching changes being made.
Here is a roundup of the latest League One headlines on May 28...
Portsmouth star signs new deal
Portsmouth have received a big boost ahead of pre-season, striking a new deal with star centre-half Sean Raggett.
The ex-Norwich City defender could have left Fratton Park on a free transfer this summer, but he has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal which will see him add to his 142 appearances next season.
Raggett's new deal is another boost for manager Danny Cowley, who has also seen Marcus Harness, Louis Thompson, Jay Mingi and Jayden Reid sign fresh terms this summer.
‘He's an absolute warrior for us and is brilliant at protecting our box," Cowley told the club's website.
Manchester United goalkeeper heading to Ipswich
Veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant announced his retirement on Thursday and the former Manchester United has quickly taken a coaching gig.
The 39-year-old jas been confirmed as a member of Kieran McKenna's coaching staff at Ipwich Town. The pair worked together at Old Trafford when McKenna was on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's coaching team.
Grant made more than 500 career appearances, playing more than 100 times for Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley respectively.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for me, and I am really looking forward to it," he told the club's website.
Imps lose important midfielder
Conor McGrandles has been a key part of Lincoln City's midfield in the past two seasons, but the Imps have confirmed the 26-year-old has chosen to leave Sincil Bank.
McGrandles made 91 appearances for the club, but he will "explore options elsewhere" at the end of his contract next month.
“We were fortunate enough to sign Conor on a free transfer two years ago and another club will benefit in the same way this summer," director of football Jez George told the club's website.
Wycombe eye veteran defender
Wycombe Wanderers are preparing for another season in League One after suffering play-off final heartbreak against Sunderland last weekend, and the Chairboys have been linked with a move for a veteran defender.
Football League World reports Wycombe are keen to sign left-back Danny Andrew from Fleetwood Town.
Andrew is out of contract at Highbury Stadium and is mulling a new offer, but Wycombe hope to tempt the 31-year-old – who has had spells with Grimsby Town and Doncaster Rovers – to Adams Park.
Scott Brown looks north again
Scott Brown made a fast start as Fleetwood Town boss with the signing of defender Shaun Rooney from St Johnstone, and the Celtic hero is reportedly looking to Scotland for another signing, too.
The Scottish Sun suggests Brown is eager to sign Ross County winger Regan Charles-Cook, who will be available on a free transfer at the end of his contract next month.
However, the Cod Army will reportedly face competition from Scottish Premiership clubs Aberdeen and Hibernian for Charles-Cook, who has scored 12 goals in his 69 appearances for Ross County.
