A former Married At First Sight (MAFS) post producer has weighed in on all the drama surrounding Awhina Rutene, Adrian Araouzou, his bestie Jasmin Weston and sisters Elita and Nikola.
Adrian said on TikTok that he’s getting a “bad edit”, but former MAFS producer Alexandria Funnell doesn’t reckon this is the case at all.
“Last night when I was watching Adrian and Awhina’s meet and greet with the sisters and JasminEats the food blogger, I was thinking how long till they come out and blame the edit?” she said on TikTok.
“I’m a former post producer, I can tell you there is no edit that is happening that has made those girls be the mean girls that they are. That is who they are.”

Alexandria, who also hosts the podcast That’s Showbiz, Baby!, didn’t work on this season of MAFS but says she has a good idea of what goes on behind the scenes due to her past experience.
“I’m sure Awhina bit back and then the girls are like fighting back, I’m sure something like that has happened. But at its core, they’ve gone on the show and they have really like, they’ve backed the wrong side of history, and now I think they’re gonna probably suffer the consequences for it,” she said.
Influencer Jasmin has since put out a statement distancing herself from Adrian and his actions.

The TikToker also touched on the post production technique ‘frankengrabbing’, which is when producers cut up somebody’s interview to form a new — usually more coherent — sentence, with the viewers being none the wiser.
She told her followers that this technique is used to “clarify the sentiment” of a scene, not to make a participant say something they didn’t say.
“[Frankengrabs] amplify the perspective. They don’t make lovely, innocent people, bad. That’s not what they do,” she explained. “I think [people like this] genuinely go on these shows and behave in their normal way and then they can’t understand how the public is perceiving them so terribly.”
At least this is a lil’ bit of vindication for Awhina, who seems like an actual angel. We’re all here for you girl!
