For many individuals, life after football is a tough transition.
While some pursue coaching careers or punditry opportunities, former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse decided to launch his own clothing and fragrance range and has worked as a DJ.
Cisse, a Champions League winner with Liverpool in 2005, returned to Anfield to participate in a Legends match versus against AC Milan in 2019 and will return to Merseyside in March when a meeting with Celtic marks the latest coming together of former Reds.

After leaving Liverpool in 2007, the French forward would go on to represent a number of clubs including Marseille, Lazio and Queens Park Rangers. His most recent club was Panathinaikos Chicago, a Greek-American amateur side, who he represented in 2021 before calling time on his playing career. He had initially retired in 2015, but decided to return to the game to sign for Swiss outfit Yverdon.
The majority of his playing days were spent in his native country, enabling the 41-year-old to reach the impressive tally of 96 goals in the French top-flight following spells with Auxerre, Marseille and Bastia. He expressed his desire in 2020 to come out of retirement in search of reaching a century of goals in Ligue 1, and has doubled down on this claim three years later.
"My body has decided to stop. Not my head," he told Canal+. "It's been two years that I want to play again. I'm only four goals away from my hundred goals in Ligue 1. So, if a club asks me to come for free, I go!"
