Ex-Liverpool manager's daughter cashes in huge 350/1 bet on Man Utd thrashing

There was more than one reason to celebrate after Liverpool demolished fierce rivals Manchester United after the daughter of former Reds’ boss Roy Evans netted a cool £1,350 with an outlandish bet.

The Merseysiders racked up one of their most memorable victories over the Red Devils with a 7-0 thumping at Anfield. Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all secured braces, with Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino rounding off the scoring.

Victory lifted the Reds to fifth place in the Premier League table, with Jurgen Klopp’s men now only three points behind Tottenham in the race for the Champions League. Whilst the German was left delighted, the daughter of ex-Kop boss Evans - Stacey - was arguably happier.

Taking to Twitter after the game, she showed off a 350/1 betslip predicting that Liverpool would win 6-0. After putting down a £5 stake, she eventually cashed out for a grand total of £1,350.

Alongside the screenshot, she wrote: “What a win! GET IN RED MEN!!!! And When you cash out at all the right times,” before then adding “I literally cashed out the last one 6-0 15 seconds before it went 7-0.”

Despite toasting her victory against the bookies, her winnings could actually have been even more should an error not stopped her from laying down a slightly different prediction. In a further tweet, Evans revealed: “I always do big results (high odds) they haven’t come in much this season but that’s made up for it.

“Annoyingly I always do 7-0 but they weren’t offering that result today!! But there’s only usually one winner in the end and it’s not us (bookies will always win) x keep your money.”

It wasn’t the only bet that Evans won throughout the afternoon in relation to the result between the two great rivals. She had also put bets on Liverpool winning both 4-0 and 5-0 - selections that were cashed out for just under £400 combined.

Stacey’s Dad Roy was in charge at Anfield for nearly five years after being appointed in January 1994. He oversaw 244 matches as boss and led the Merseyside club to the League Cup during his first campaign.

Since leaving, he has claimed that the Reds should have claimed the Premier League. Speaking in October 2022, he said: “At this moment in time I think I still have the best record of any English manager in the Premier League, which is ridiculous because no English manager’s ever won it.

“It doesn’t do any good for me, like, because I’d rather have won the trophy, that’s the most important thing! We did okay. I was in the top four for the four seasons: third, fourth, fourth, third. But you couldn’t get in the Champions League that way as only the top two played in the Champions League in those days.

“We just had to take it forward and we were just short of winning the Premiership, which was disappointing.”
