Ex-Liverpool man MJ Williams has say on Anfield prospect Conor Bradley's Bolton Wanderers loan

MJ Williams believes Conor Bradley will be a 'great player' for Bolton Wanderers this season in his loan spell from Liverpool and believes his Anfield background will see him fit in well with how the Whites play.

The 19-year-old right-back has joined Wanderers for the upcoming season in League One. It will be the first spell away from Anfield for the young defender.

The right-back has also played five times for Jurgen Klopp's side across the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. All of these appearances came last season, but will now spend the upcoming campaign out on loan at Wanderers.

Bradley was a long-term target for Ian Evatt and Wanderers, with the Whites having made him their number one target in January, but Liverpool were unwilling to let him out on loan at that time. The move has become a reality now and the teenager is poised for a busy campaign out in League One.

Bradley has featured heavily during pre-season and caught the eye at right wing-back. He scored his first goal for the club in the 2-2 draw versus Stockport County earlier this month.

Wanderers midfielder Williams came through the youth team ranks at Anfield, like Bradley has done. He is in no doubt the Northern Ireland international will be a success this season and feels the way he has played at Liverpool will suit him at the Whites.

Williams said: “He is a great lad, pretty quiet but I am sure we will get him out of his shell.

“Out on the pitch you can tell he’s come from a club like Liverpool. The way we want to play here is front foot, so he is used to it.

“He is quick and I think he has got the longest legs I have ever seen on a footballer. I am sure he will be a great player for us this season."

Jack Iredale has also joined this summer from Cambridge United. The left sided defender will provide competition for the back three and at wing-back.

Williams believes the new signing has fitted in well with his new club. The midfielder is surprised by how quick the former Cambridge United man is and, like with Bradley, thinks he will have a great season.

He said: “He can play both positions well and he’s quick. I was pretty surprised. He is knocking out sprints like Rico (Ricardo Santos) at the moment.

“He has come in and settled in a good group that has been together for quite a while. I am sure he will have a great season."
