Ex-Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson gives damning Crystal Palace verdict after Whites loss

Ex-Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that Crystal Palace deserved to beat his former side after their 2-1 defeat to the Eagles at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

It was a quick start to the game for the Whites after Pascal Struijk's goal in the ninth minute gave the visitors the lead but they would only hold onto it for 13 minutes until Odsonne Edouard nodded in the equaliser.

Despite Jesse Marsch's men pushing for a winner, it was Eberechi Eze's goal late on that secured all three points for the hosts and meant Leeds slipped further down the Premier League table.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily show, Robinson was particularly honest when asked if Palace were worthy winners on Sunday.

"I think they did, as hard as that is to say from a Leeds point of view. Palace have been excellent this season, I think they've played really really well without getting the results they deserve.

"It was always going to be a big ask for Leeds today - Bamford coming back into the team, Rodrigo dropped into midfield and I think Leeds fielded the strongest XI that they had available to them.

"Selhurst Park is a notoriously difficult place to go from a player's point of view - it's big, it's old, the dressing rooms aren't great, the home fans there are fantastic and Palace have been great under Vieira."
