Ex-Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa among favourites for Everton job as Frank Lampard faces exit

Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is among the favourites to replace Frank Lampard as Everton manager. The former Chelsea and Derby County boss is expected to leave the Goodison Park club after a dismal run of results.

Sean Dyche has been installed as the bookmakers favourite to take over at Everton, with Bielsa second favourite to return to the Premier League.

David Moyes, whose West Ham side defeated Everton 2-0 on Saturday, is third on the list of candidates. The Scotsman spent a decade at Goodison Park between 2003 and 2013, and guided the Toffees to European qualification on four occasions. Former Everton and Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney and ex-Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo are outside favourites for the job.

Bielsa has been out of work since his sacking from Leeds in February 2022, although he was heavily linked with the job at AFC Bournemouth prior to Gary O'Neil's permanent appointment.

The legendary Argentine famously led Leeds to the Championship title in 2020 - ending the club's 16-year absence from the English top-flight. He then went one further by guiding Leeds to a ninth-place finish upon their return to the Premier League, but was relieved of his duties following a run of four straight defeats, which left them 16th in the table.

Next Everton manager odds:

Sean Dyche 6/4

Marcelo Bielsa 3/1

David Moyes 4/1

Wayne Rooney 6/1

Nuno Espirito Santo 8/1
