The Los Angeles Lakers should throw it back to 2010, at least according to longtime forward Lamar Odom. Amid the team’s recent struggles, which include four consecutive losses while dropping nine of the last 11 games, Odom believes that the team bringing back the old triangle offense can save the season
“I got the triangle offense right in my house, I’ll drop it off,” Odom told TMZ Sports.
When asked if Odom believes the triangle will save the Lakers, he definitively stated, “100 percent.”
“It’ll save basketball. Everybody’s playing the same way, that game last night was hard to watch … Our last what? Five championships we won in the triangle, right?” Odom continued.
While it’s unlikely we will see a drastic change like that, there’s no question that something has to change for the Lakers, who fell to 17-19 on the season after the team’s 127-113 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The current stretch has led to Lakers fans calling for Darvin Ham’s job, and the coach recently fired back on the responses the team gets to nightly losses, as ESPN’s Dave McMenamin highlighted.
“I’m tired of people living and dying with every game we play … This is a marathon,” Ham said following the loss to the Grizzlies.
The Lakers will be a team to monitor ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline, especially if the team’s struggles continue.
