FORMER Hibs star Josh Doig scored his first goal in Serie A at the weekend. 

The 20-year-old signed for Hellas Verona in a big money move this summer.

The Italian side paid around £3million to the Easter Road outfit for the talented left-back. 

And Doig has made a great start to life on the continent. 

The defender slotted home nicely to give Verona a 2-1 win over Sampdoria. 

The away side had the lead after 40-minutes, but Emil Audero equalised for Verona.

Then it was Doig's time to shine, as he stroked home from close-range to score the winner.
