Ex-Hibs duo Jack Ross and Shaun Maloney 'final two' on shortlist for Dundee job

Former Hibs duo Jack Ross and Shaun Maloney are the final candidates for the vacant Dundee job, according to reports.

The Dens Park club has reduced their shortlist from five names to just two.

And the Daily Record report that the former Easter Road pair are the remaining contenders with one likely to become Mark McGhee's replacement.

Dundee have been relegated to the Scottish Championship and have been hunting for a new boss since McGhee's departure.

Gordon Strachan and John Nelms have been leading the interview process.

Ross has been out of work since losing his job at Hibs in December and has turned down a number of offers to return to the game.

Maloney was axed by the capital club in April after just four months in charge following a poor run of results.

He is close with Strachan from their Celtic and Scotland days.
