Ex-Giants Star Doesn’t Hold Back on Criticism of Cowboys QB Dak Prescott

Former Giants standout wide receiver Plaxico Burress is not a believer in Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Not only that, but he believes Dallas fans are in store for a stretch of overall disappointment when it comes to their franchise quarterback.

Burress, who joined The Carton Show, discussed Prescott’s upside and the great debate of whether the signal-caller can win a Super Bowl. In short, Burress is selling all of his stock in Prescott taking steps forward in any major category.

“I believe [Dak Prescott] reached his ceiling as a quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys … they can win, but they won’t win a championship,” Burress stated.

It's a strong statement from Burress, and the debate over whether Prescott can bring a Super Bowl to the Cowboys remains a hot-button topic.

While Prescott has posted a 61–36 record in 97 games dating back to the 2016 season, he’s also completed 66.6% of his passes for 24,943 yards, 166 touchdowns and 65 interceptions. The dark cloud over the Cowboys and their quarterback is a 2–4 playoff record and his numbers have dropped a bit across the board in the postseason.

In six playoff games, Prescott has completed 63.4% of his passes for 1,559 yards, 11 touchdowns (an average of less than two per game) and five interceptions.
