Former New York Giants defensive lineman Leonard Williams tied a rare NFL record over the weekend when he played in his 18th regular season game on Sunday.
Williams played the first eight games of the regular season for the Giants before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks before the October 31 deadline.
The Seahawks had only played seven games to that point and Williams was afforded the opportunity to play in Seattle’s final 10 games.
That is a feat that has not been done since two members of the Frankfort Yellow Jackets accomplished it back in 1930, per Stathead.
Thanks to the 17-game schedule and some timely switching of teams, Leonard Williams became the first player since 1930 to play 18 games in a season.#NFL | #Seahawks pic.twitter.com/O0ITfZOeTu

The Giants received a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder from Seattle in exchange for the 29-year-old Williams.
