Ex-Falcons LB Mykal Walker signs with Raiders practice squad

Former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Mykal Walker was one of the team’s surprise cuts during training camp. The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bears before being released at the 53-man roster deadline.

Walker has found another new home, signing with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad on Tuesday. The Raiders were reportedly interested in adding Walker when the Falcons released him, but the Bears snatched him up first.

Walker was drafted by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Fresno State and had worked his way up to a starting role last season. We’ll see if Walker gets called up to the Raiders 53-man roster ahead of Week 3.

Meanwhile, the Falcons will take on the Lions this Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit. The Lions are currently a three-point favorite going into Week 3. Stay tuned for the team’s first injury report of the week following Wednesday’s practice.
