Three years ago, the Atlanta Falcons selected defensive lineman Marlon Davidson with pick No. 47 of the 2020 NFL draft. However, the former Auburn standout never found his footing in Atlanta and was released by the team last October.
Davidson has found a new home in San Francisco, signing a one-year deal with the 49ers on Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

During Davidson’s two and a half years in Atlanta, he appeared in 19 games with one start, racking up 29 combined tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
Injuries have been the biggest obstacle for the former second-round pick. Prior to the start of the 2022 season, it was reported that Davidson had his knee scoped.
After starting the year on the injured reserve list, he was later released without appearing in a single game. Davidson will join former Falcons defensive back Isaiah Oliver on a loaded 49ers defense.
