Ex Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson has revealed the hilarious secret to her happy relationship with Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez.
Gemma, who played Carly Hope on the ITV soap, and partner Gorka started dating in 2018 after meeting on the BBC dance competition and are now engaged share a daughter together - three-year-old Mia.
On her radio show Hits Radio UK alongside Mike Toolan Gemma delved in to the key to a happy relationship in a hilarious discussion over toilet habits.

Gemma said: "The ultimate sign of closeness in a relationship is being able to not lock the bathroom door, we don't half the time even shut the doors in our house we just do what we need to do."
Co-star Mike Toolan replied: "What when you're on the toilet?" Gemma replied: "Yeah but if he did lock the door when he was in there I would be like what are you doing? Why does it need to be locked?"
Mike asked: "You and Gorka have got a very open bathroom door relationship haven't you?" to which Gemma responded: "Yeah well with a toddler, I say it's with a toddler, I like to see and hear her, but it's not even that but before Mia came along we did, I'd happily waltz into the bathroom if he was in the bath.
The conversation continues as Mike asked Gemma: "If he was in the bath and you needed a toilet you would just go ahead wouldn't you no matter what number that toilet was?"
Gemma responded: "Yeah, yeah, it's closeness you see, he says 'Gemma please come on'" as she mimicked her other halves accent, "I say sorry Gorks I've got to go." Mike Chirped in with his impression of the professional dancer: "Can I say something, I'm trying to relax."
The 37-year-old former actor quipped: "RELAX TO THIS" as the pair set about laughing. The short clip was posted to Hits Radio UK's official Instagram with the caption: “RELAX TO THIS!” alongside a series on laughing face emojis.
The post, which has since been shared on Gemma's personal Instagram account racked up 2,969 likes and 56 comments and it seems Gemma isn't the only one who thinks having an open bathroom door relationship is the key to success.
One fan responded: "That’s when you know that you have met your soulmate. You can do anything including going to the loo with the door open or even while they are in the shower or bath", a second agreed: "No doors closed in this house either" while a third added: "I love you Gemma, so down to earth! Your impression of your fella make me laugh out loud!!"
"Me and my husband are the exact same" added another social media user, a fifth said: "absolutely beltin’ proper northern lass" alongside a series of laughing face emojis. "She’s so funny" penned another.
