Former Emmerdale star Danny Miller has confirmed his first acting role since quitting the ITV soap last year.
The 31-year-old, who played the role of Aaron Dingle for 11 years in total, decided to step away from the Dales in 2021 at the same time as his stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Danny went on to win the ITV reality show on December 9, but hasn't appeared on the small screen much since then.
Now it has been confirmed that Danny will be taking on the lead character in Jack and The Beanstalk as he tries his hand at pantomime.
The production will run at the Bradford Theatre from December 10 to January 22 next year.
Announcing the news on Twitter, the Bradford Theatre account wrote: "We’re so excited that Emmerdale star and King of the Jungle Danny Miller and Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK runner-up & musical theatre performer Divina De Campo will be joining Billy Pearce in this year’s panto Jack and the Beanstalk."
Danny retweeted the post and was immediately inundated with messages from his fans.
One person replied: "Just sooo happy @DannyBMiller eek you're wonderful and actually doing panto at one of my local theatre's really means everything and I seem to keep crying lol cant wait to see you xx."
Another person said: "Oooo that's great Danny..have u any plans for anything in Manchester or even Salford."
And a third fan commented: "What fantastic casting. Totally brilliant to hear this," while a fourth added: "So excited for this!"
Speaking about why he decided to quit Emmerdale, Danny told The Mirror and other press back in November 2021 that he was "very emotional" about his decision.
He cited the tough soap filming schedules as one of the reasons he wanted to leave and said that he wanted to be around more for his family.
"I'd like to think that I'm very, very far away from Aaron and that's part of the reason why I wanted to do this show," he said referring to I'm A Celeb.
"I've actually left Emmerdale, unfortunately, and I've decided to start a new path in life.
"I've got my baby now and I'm getting married next year and it's felt like the right time to open a new chapter in my life - god, my nerves are going because I've not really told anybody!
"I'm very emotional about it, actually. It's been a massive part of my life and it's taught me lots of things. I've been wanting to spread my wings for a while and a show like this gives me the opportunity to see what else happens after it and kind of start a new life with my family and see what happens," he added.
