Ex-Dundee United head coach Tam Courts departs Budapest Honved

FORMER Dundee United boss Tam Courts has left Budapest Honved.

The Hungarian club have announced that the Scot has left the club after around just six-months in charge.

Honved have won three of their first 12 league matches.

Courts departs having guided his side to a 2-0 win over Zalaegerzeg on Saturday.

A statement from the club reads: "Tam Courts is leaving the Budapest Honvéd bench after our club terminated the contract with the head coach by mutual agreement.

"The Scottish specialist took over the management of the Honvéd in June 2022, after summer training and significant changes in the squad, he sat on the bench in Kispest for the first time at the start of the 2022/2023 season.

"He managed our club in a total of 12 league and 2 cup matches, in which he had 5 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats, and he played an important role in the inclusion of several of our academics in the senior team.

"We thank Tam Courts for what he has done for the Honved, and we wish him the best of luck in his future career."

The coach will now be looking to his next job on the horizon.

He guided the Tannadice club to a top six finish last season and Europa Conference League qualifiers.

His former assistant Liam Fox is now in charge of United.
