New Browns defensive back Juan Thornhill is bringing confidence to Cleveland. The former Chiefs player thinks his new squad can do what his former team just did: get to the Super Bowl.
“All of the pieces are here,” Thornhill told clevelandbrowns.com. “They’ve got a really good quarterback, receivers, the defense is super strong. I feel like all of the pieces are here, and we have that capability of getting there and making a splash in the playoffs and making it to the Super Bowl.”
Thornhill has played his entire career in Kansas City, winning two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, but he agreed to a three-year deal with the Browns on Thursday. The 27-year-old is used to winning championships at this point in his short NFL tenure, but Cleveland simply is not.
The Browns never have appeared in a Super Bowl, but they did win several NFL championships—the most recent being in 1964. Cleveland finished at the bottom of the AFC North at 7–10 this past season, so a Super Bowl run would be somewhat unexpected.
