Ex-Celtic star Ryan Christie becomes a dad as he welcomes baby boy with partner

Former Celtic player Ryan Christie has welcomed a baby with his partner.

The Bournemouth star and Scotland international's girlfriend Georgie Bell posted a photo of their new baby boy on Instagram, simply captioning it "Indescribable. 25.06.23."

Hoops pals including Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong were among those who shared their congratulations with the couple as well as fellow Scotland team-mates Andy Robertson and John McGinn.

The 28-year-old midfielder was notably absent from fellow ex-Celtic star Kris Ajer's recent wedding in Italy - with the reason now made very clear.

Christie proposed to his girlfriend in January 2022, with Georgie sharing the happy news on Instagram. She said: "I can’t imagine my life without you, and now I don’t have to.

"I love you beyond words @ryanchristie2."

It's been the perfect month for Christie who played his part in Scotland's recent Euro 2024 double-header success. Steve Clarke's men are dreaming of Germany next summer after making it four wins from four in the qualifying section.

The former Celtic man started the incredible 2-1 comeback win over Norway in Oslo before he climbed off the bench at a drenched Hampden in the 2-0 triumph over Georgia.

Next up is a trip to face Cyprus in September on matchday five in Group A before the small matter of England making the trip to Glasgow for the 150th anniversary match.
