Ex-Celtic star Leigh Griffiths involved in angry fan bust-up Down Under

Ex-Celtic star Leigh Griffiths involved in angry fan bust-up Down Under

LEIGH GRIFFITHS has been involved in an angry bust-up with a fan in Australia.

The former Scotland international was pictured in the heated exchange after scoring for his new side Mandurah City.

It was his second goal in as many games Down Under, as the ex-Celtic star continued his good form at his latest club.

However, the 32-year-old's strike was somewhat overshadowed following an incident with a fan in attendance at their game with Dianella White Eagles today.

The match finished 4-2 to Mandurah, with Griffiths able to capitalise on some poor goalkeeping.

However, with just minutes remaining on the clock, red mist descended on the game.

Griffiths went to take a corner when a shout from the crowd arrived.

The striker responded and approached the fan to argue.

Another supporter was forced to intervene in the bad tempered exchange, with Griffiths and the fan pushing each other away. No action appeared to be taken by the referee.

Neil Sherwin, the Perth-based editor of @bpfootball, wrote on Twitter: "Something said by a spectator at a corner, Griffiths isn't a happy man."

Griffiths teamed up with John Baird in Australia ahead of Mandurah's final two league games.

He hopes that he can use the opportunity to impress A-League clubs.
