He's set to leave St Mary's in the summer and Antonio Conte's men will seek to push a deal over the line once the English Premier League season is over.
Pierluigi Gollini is the current back-up at the club but he is set to depart once his loan deal from Atalanta finishes.
It's reported that the former Celtic fans' favourite will miss the final day clash with Leicester City and has already said goodbye to his Southampton team-mates.
Forster featured 24 times this campaign and has been the first-choice for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side for the second half of the season.
He's picked up six caps for England to date and now looks set to compete with Lloris for the gloves at Tottenham next term.
