FORMER Celtic player Marian Shved became a hero for new club Shakhtar Donetsk last night.
The attacker helped the Ukrainian side to a stunning 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in Germany in their Champions League group opener.
The ex-Celtic outcast bagged twice as Shakhtar opened their Group F campaign with a huge win.
The Ukrainian's have had to undergo somewhat of a team rebuild after losing 15 players since Russia's invasion of the country earlier this year.
Shved joined towards the end of the summer transfer window - after refusing to play for Mechelen.
A huge mistake from Leipzig's goalkeeper allowed Shved an easy chance to score.
The 25-year-old scored again shortly after the home side had equalised.
Shved was signed for Celtic under Brendan Rodgers in January 2019.
He joined the Scottish champions for £2million, but was hardly seen in a Hoops jersey.
He then completed a switch to Belgium with Mechelen after impressing on loan.
