Former Celtic defender Moritz Jenz has signed for Wolfsburg on a four-year deal from Lorient.
The 24-year-old spent the first half of last season at Celtic, making 19 appearances in all competitions under Ange Postecoglou, playing all six Champions League group stage matches in the process.
However, his game time was cut following the World Cup break, and Jenz's loan deal was terminated by the club following the signing of Yuki Kobayashi.
Following this, the defender was loaned to Schalke, where he made 11 appearances in his homeland. His efforts were not enough, however, as the side was relegated to the second tier of German football.
Jenz had been keen on a permanent switch to Celtic during his time in Scotland, telling RBB24: "My agent and the club representatives will discuss this. I'm relatively happy at Celtic and it's really fun here.
"Every day is a dream. I hope it can continue like this in the long term. Let's see what happens. I just keep going full throttle for Celtic.
"I've felt really comfortable here since day one."
Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair has backed Brendan Rodgers for a sensational return to Celtic insisting he can be a big hit once again.
The Hoops have been on the hunt for a new boss since Ange Postecoglou sealed his move to Tottenham last Tuesday.
After being linked with Manchester City assistant Enzo Maresca, Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen and West Ham manager David Moyes, among others, the Celtic board have now homed in on Rodgers, with whom they met in Majorca last weekend to initiate discussions.
The Northern Irishman left Celtic to take over at Leicester almost four and a half years ago, but he now appears set for a return to the club at which he won all seven domestic trophies available to him while laying the foundations for a remarkable quadruple-treble that was completed by his successor Neil Lennon.
Sinclair was a huge success working under Rodgers during his first spell and he fully expects him to hit the ground running again if he lands the position.
He told The Sun: "When you leave Celtic, it stays with you and it is such a big club. If he does return then I’m sure he would be so happy to be their manager once again. Could they have another Invincible season under him? Definitely. I’m a big fan of Celtic, so I am always watching what they are doing."
