FORMER Celtic star Leigh Griffiths will face no punishment after being involved in a furious bust-up with a fan last week.
The one-time Scotland international was caught on camera squaring up to a supporter in Australia on Friday.
The 32-year-old was playing for Mandurah City, where he moved to just a few weeks ago in a bid to get his career back on track.
His short-term deal with the lower division side got off to the perfect start as he scored on his debut.
On Friday, Griffiths also netted against Dianella White Eagles in a 4-2 win for John Baird's men.
However, towards the end of the match, things turned sour.
Griffiths walked towards the sidelines to take a corner when he reacted to a shout from a fan.
This led to a heated exchange between the pair before the former Falkirk player squared up to the supporter.
A fellow fan was forced to intervene, as he and Griffiths pushed each other.
However, it has now been confirmed by Football West, football's governing body in Western Australia, that Griffiths will not be punished over the incident.
A statement reads: “We have a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of players, coaches, match officials, spectators and any other people attending matches, and will investigate all official complaints.
“Football West greatly appreciates the work done by our ground marshals, who are generally club volunteers.
“Clubs are reminded that ground marshal duties include helping with the security of players, match referees and club officials.”
Griffiths is now a free agent having joined Mandurah for just the final two games of their season.
