Ewan McGregor has finalised his divorce from his wife of 22 years, Eve Mavrakis, according to documents obtained by The Blast.
The 49-year-old actor filed for divorce from production designer Mavrakis, 53, in January 2018. TMZ reported at the time that McGregor had cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the separation.
McGregor is now dating his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
The Scottish actor shares four daughters with Mavrakis, who he met in 1995 on the set of Kavanagh QC. His eldest daughter Clara, 24, spoke out against his father's girlfriend on Instagram last year, calling her a "piece of trash."
Responding to a fan of Winstead, who had shared an image of the actress kissing McGregor at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2014 with the caption, "the most beautiful and talented woman on earth," Clara wrote in the comments, "Most beautiful and talented woman on earth??? Oh man y'all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash :)."
When another fan jumped in to defend the original post - "Say it to her face not in social media. It took TWO to undo this marriage. If a man OR woman is happy w/ their marriage no outside interference can destroy that!" - Clara responded, "Yup it took two!! Mary & my father :)."
She later discussed the comments in an interview with The Times. "It wasn't the most mature way to go about things, but I was angry and upset," she said.
"There had been a lot building up to it and a lot to deal with - not to make excuses or anything - but, yeah, it wasn't my finest moment."
