Twenty-year-old Evy Leibfarth, a two-time Olympian, secured her first Olympic medal by clinching third place in the women's canoe single final on Wednesday. Leibfarth displayed an impressive performance, initially leading the race but was eventually surpassed by Elena Lilik of Germany, who finished with a time of 103.54.

Despite starting first in the final due to her top qualifying time, Leibfarth showcased her skill and determination by maintaining her medal position throughout the competition, outperforming all 12 finalists.

Australia's Jessica Fox, on the other hand, continued her winning streak by claiming her second gold medal of the Olympics in the women's kayak single event, following her victory on Sunday.

Looking ahead, Leibfarth has another opportunity to stand on the podium as she gears up to compete in the women's kayak cross event scheduled to begin on Friday. With her exceptional talent and competitive spirit, Leibfarth remains a strong contender for further success in the ongoing Olympic Games.
