Evil Scots serial killer Peter Tobin dies in hospital

Evil serial killer Peter Tobin has died in hospital.

The notorious murderer, who had cancer, died at the age of 76 today. He had served a whole life order at HMP Edinburgh for the cruel killings of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol.

The monster, originally from Johnstone in Renfrewshire, had been chained to his bed at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after falling and breaking his hip. Last month, we reported that he had been refusing food and his medication and was described as being 'on death's door'.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 6.04am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, officers attended at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following the death of a 76-year-old man. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Before Tobin was caged in 2007 for his heinous crimes, he served ten years behind bars after committing a double rape in 1993, following which he was released in 2004. Until his death, he had been serving three life sentences for the three murders committed between 1991 and 2006.

In addition to the three killings of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol, detectives believe Tobin was responsible for the deaths of many other young women and girls. The monster had devoted his lifetime to carrying out crimes across the country, with the remains of two missing teenagers, Vicky, 15, and Dinah, 18, found at his former home in Margate, Kent.

It wasn't until he was snared in 2007 for the slaughter of Polish Student Angelika that he came into the public eye. The year prior, he had been working at St Patrick's Church in Anderston, Glasgow, under the guise of a 'handyman', giving himself the fake name Pat McLaughlin.

The psychopath pounced on the 23-year-old before brutally beating, raping and stabbing her to death. He hid her remains under the church floorboards.

The case at the High Court in Edinburgh prompted detectives to look into Tobin's past, which led to his conviction the following year of the murder of schoolgirl Vicky, who vanished from a bus stop in Falkirk in 1991. Forensic officers dug up her remains from his Kent home during a search operation and also found the body of missing teenager Dinah, who had vanished in 1991 after hitching a lift with the killer in Hampshire.

Since his convictions, Tobin refused to cooperate with police and in doing so, it is believed he has taken the names and locations of other victims to his grave.

The Scottish Prison Service declined to comment.
