Everything you need to know about the Oscars: How to watch in the UK, presents and all the films nominated

The 95th Academy Awards is set to take place this weekend, with film stars from across the globe attending one of the most prestigious film award ceremonies in the world.

The ceremony will be held on Sunday (March 12) night in Los Angeles, kicking off 8pm EST, which means viewers in the UK hoping to watch live will have tune in at midnight, with the ceremony expected to end around 3am Monday morning in the UK.

Here's everything you need to know about the ceremony, including how to watch, who's nominated, and which of your favourite celebrities are presenting.

How to watch the Oscars 2023 in the UK

The Oscars ceremony will air on ABC in the US on Sunday, March 12, at 8pm Eastern Time (ET) and 5pm Pacific Time (PT), while here in the UK the awards ceremony will air live at midnight on the Sky Cinema Oscars channel on Sky or on NOW TV.

You'll need to have the Sky Cinema package as a Sky customer, or the new Sky Glass package which includes Sky Cinema, in order to be able to watch on Sky. Or, if you have a NOWTV subscription, the streaming service will be airing the ceremony.

Who is nominated for an Oscar

Everything Everywhere All At Once leads the Oscars 2023 race with 11 nominations, while blockbusters including Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water also received multiple nominations. Colin Farrell and Bill Nighy have both been nominated for best actor for the first time in their careers, with Farrell nominated for his performance in the Banshees of Inisherin and Nighy nominated for his film, Living.

Also making history Black Panther star Angela Bassett has become the first actor to earn an Oscar nomination for Marvel film. She is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Who is presenting at the Oscars 2023

Jimmy Kimmel will host this year's Oscars ceremony, and has already referenced the infamous slap at last year's ceremony, confirming that he will address it with a joke as host.

A slew of famous faces have also been confirmed to present awards at the ceremony. Hugh Grant, Florence Pugh, Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry are all set to take to the stage to present awards, among other huge names, with even more expected to be announced ahead of the ceremony.

Performances will be given by best song nominee Rihanna and US rock star Lenny Kravitz, who will perform during the ceremony’s In Memoriam segment.
