BBC Comic Relief and Red Nose Day: Who's hosting, performing, the schedule and where to buy a nose

Comic Relief and Red Nose Day return to our screens this Friday with a line-up that promises to be one of its biggest ever.

The annual charity event hosted by the BBC aims to raise as much money as possible in order to help children in poverty. The night includes live performances, comedy specials and sketches alongside footage showing viewers at home the impact their donations will make.

This year's Red Nose Telethon will be broadcast broadcast live from MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester with events held across the UK. Until last year, Red Nose Day was a biannual event but will now take place annually.

Red Nose Day is the event that takes place whereas Comic Relief is the charity itself, co-founded by Lenny Henry. Various television specials air across the week in the build up to Comic Relief with a host of celebrities getting involved in the Friday night climax, scheduled for March 18th.

Where can I buy a Red Nose?

Sainsbury's is the official retailer of the iconic Red Nose and offer a wide variety of other merchandise including wigs and shirts from all of their stores. The proceeds from all of their sales will go straight towards the grand total of Comic Relief.

Whilst other stores may offer similar products, Sainsbury's has been the official partner of both Comic Relief and Red Nose Day for over 21 years.

How can I get involved?

Comic Relief accepts donations via their website by registering online. You can also call or phone in on any night leading up to the show or even start a fundraiser to help raise cash for the charity.
