Everything we know about some Tampa Bay Rays players declining to wear LGBTQ+ patches on their uniforms

On June 4, the Tampa Bay Rays celebrated the franchise’s 16th annual Pride Night, in which players wore uniforms that included pride flag-style rainbow-colored logos in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

But not every single player wore the logos on their uniforms and hats.

Five of them cited their religious beliefs as the reason behind their decision, with one player speaking out on the other four’s behalves. There are others who did wear the Pride Night uniforms who have voiced their support.

So here’s everything we know about what happened and what’s been said about it in the last few days:
