Everything we know about Hamilton coming to Manchester as tickets go on pre-sale

The award-winning musical Hamilton is coming to Manchester later this year, and the first round of tickets are being released today. The show will see a whopping 15-week run in the city centre, from November 11 through to February 24.

There are two sets of pre-sale tickets available, one for ATG Theatre Card holders at 10am, and a second for those who signed up to priority at 12pm, followed by general sale on Monday.

It was announced on social media that the show would be coming to Manchester last month, causing much excitement on social media. It’s the first time that the production has gone on tour in the UK - and fans can’t wait to ‘be in the room where it happens’.

Already this morning fans have taken to Twitter to share their excitement, with Yorkshirecurl writing: “I want, more than anything, tickets to see Hamilton!!!”

Nwmusicals added: “Can’t wait to be in the room where it happens.” While Nolechica commented: “Hamilton tix are about as stressful as regular concert tix to get.”

So, if you’re hoping to get your hands on the hottest ticket of the year, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Hamilton the Musical?

Hamilton - the smash hit musical - is coming to Manchester (Hamilton)

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is billed as "the story of America then, told by America now". The ground-breaking production features a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, which takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton to create a revolutionary moment in theatre.

Known for the diversity of its cast in portraying the Founding Fathers, it has been hailed as a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education, and has won a clutch of top awards including The Olivier, Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer.

When do tickets go on pre-sale?

Tickets for ATG TheatreCard holders go on sale this morning (March 10) at 10am.

There will be a second pre-sale for those who signed up to priority booking on the Hamilton homepage. The form to sign up was still available before 9am this morning, but appears to have been taken down in preparation for the sale.

Tickets for those who were able to sign up will go live two hours after Theatrecard holders at 12pm, providing three days of advanced booking.

When do tickets go on general sale?

If you missed out on priority booking and don’t have access to an ATG TheatreCard, fear not, because tickets will go on general sale on Monday, March 13 at 10am.

How much are Hamilton tickets?

(Hamilton)

As part of ATG Theatre’s price promise scheme, the cheapest available tickets will be priced at £13. But if the recent run of The Lion King at Palace Theatre is anything to go buy, theatre fans can expect to see some of the best seats priced upwards of £100.

That said, the tickets are tiered, so you should be able to find some within your budget when they go on sale.

What’s the seating plan at Palace Theatre?

If you are hoping to bag tickets to see Hamilton at Palace Theatre, it might be a good idea to have a look at the seating plan and work out where you want to sit to ensure a smoother checkout.

The first few weeks of the show are expected to sell quickly, so if you want to watch the show in November, you’ll have to be quick.

Palace Theatre offers stall seating, as well as a circle and grand tier. Grand tier is likely to have some of the cheapest tickets available, while stalls - particularly front row - will cost more.
