Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold’s Children
James Reynolds
The couple’s first daughter, James Reynolds is nine-years-old.
James is named after named after Ryan’s father, who passed away in 2014.
While fans have questioned the use of the name for a girl, the family don’t think it’s all that crazy.
“I don’t really feel like we’re breaking new ground here. I didn’t call her Summer Squash Meadowlark,” Ryan told reporters after her birth.
James is also lucky enough to have pop star, Taylor Swift as her godmother, and her voice features on the opening of Taylor Swift’s track ‘Gorgeous’.
Inez Reynolds
Inez Reynolds is Blake and Ryan’s second daughter. She was born in 2016 and is now seven-years-old.
Like with James, the couple faced fan’s questions about their second daughter’s name.
“I had a new baby, Inez, with a ‘z’ even though everyone says it’s with an ‘s.’ I don’t know why,” Lively told People. “Please tell Wikipedia.”
Ryan has joked about their second daughter’s ‘dark side’ telling Live with Kelly and Ryan that she’s “super into villains.”
“We watch Beauty and the Beast and her favourite character is Gaston,” He shared.
“Our paediatrician, when she met Inez, she said, ‘Oh, this one’s shady,’ ” Ryan joked.
“Even the other day, when we were traveling back home, we were at the airport and out of our whole family she’s the only one that got the secondary security pat down at 2 years old. She just takes it like a hard-earned felon.”
Inez also recently got a chance to join her dad in Deadpool and Wolverine.
On Instagram, Ryan shared. “Only costar I argued with. Most people think Kidpool is the dirtiest. But she’s also pretty good at backtalk and never taking out the trash.”
Betty Reynolds
The couple confirmed their third pregnancy at the premiere for Ryan’s film Detective Pikachu, when Blake arrived in a yellow dress and a visible baby bump.
Their third daughter Betty is thought to be named after Blake’s grandmother, Betty.
However, Betty’s name has also inspired Blake’s non-alcoholic sparkling mixers company, Betty Buzz, and a Taylor Swift song.
Swift song’s lyrics don’t just include the name Betty but also Betty’s older sisters, James and Inez with “You heard the rumors from Inez/ You can’t believe a word she says”, and “She said, ‘James, get in, let’s drive.'”
Ryan confirmed that the song used his daughter’s names in an interview with SiriusXM
“We thought it was pretty damn amazing. We still do,” Ryan said.
“I still walk down the street and shake my head thinking, ‘I can’t believe that happened…’ The names are the names of our kids. We trust her [Taylor] implicitly. She’s very sensitive to any of that stuff.”
Taylor then confirmed the rumours even further when performing the song on her 2023 Eras tour in Philadelphia, which the Blake’s daughters attended.
“I named the characters [in this song] after real people in my life who I love more than anything. And their names are James, Inez and Betty.”
Betty is also credited in Deadpool and Wolverine as the “Hugh Jackman Wrangler” after the actor “got attacked by Betty backstage, who thinks she has claws so she goes at him. I have to give her a little tiny time-out.”
Olin Reynolds
Blake and Ryan’s fourth pregnancy was confirmed via a social media post from Blake, when she wrote “here are photos of me pregnant in real life so the 11 guys waiting outside my home for a (unicorn) sighting will leave me alone. You freak me and my kids out.”
“Thanks to everyone else for all the love and respect and for continuing to unfollow accounts and publications who share photos of children. You have all the power against them. And thank you to the media who have a ‘No Kids Policy’. You all make all the difference.”
In February 2023, Blake then confirmed the birth of their baby with a picture of herself not pregnant and the caption “… been busy.”
Ryan then spoke to Power Lunch and said, “We’re very excited. Look, we wouldn’t do this four times if we didn’t love it.”
The family waited to confirm the name of their fourth son in July 2024, when Ryan thanked his wife and kids at premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine.
“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who is here; I want to thank my kids, James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here,” he said.
