PlayStation’s State of Play returned this morning, showcasing a heap of new games. We got a solid look at some upcoming Triple-A’s, DLC and remasters of classic PlayStation titles.
This year’s theme looked to be Halloween, as a majority of games shown were horror-inspired titles. While many fans were hoping for news of a Bloodborne 2, or another Spider-Man game from Insomniac, this year’s State of Play held back on those big reveals. That’s not to say it was a flop, however. There were heaps of fresh titles shown here that show a heap of promise.
The upcoming The Midnight Walk looks like a Tim Burton-esque journey to hell. ArchAge Chronicles is shaping up to be a great title to scratch everyone’s Witcher 3 itch. We also got our first look at Ghost of Yōtei, a sequel to the beloved Ghost of Tsushima. Sony also showcased off a wide selection of games on the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro and a future Chrome coloured variant.
Alan Wake 2 also dropped a new DLC trailer, hinting at a connection to Remedy’s previous game Control. The trailer was an absolute punch to the face at 8am. No one does scares better than that game. Similarly, we got a look at Hell Is Us, a souls-like where you fight demonic faceless white monsters (Or what I like to call, walking home late through Dandenong).
Below, you’ll find all the trailers from the show, in the order they appeared during its run. Let’s get into it.
