Everything Liverpool FC fans must remember for Champions League final in Paris

Thousands of Liverpool FC fans are making the journey to Paris for the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp's side will take on Real Madrid as they aim to win their 7th European Cup at the Stade de France on Saturday. Reds' supporters have been finalising the details of their travel to the French capital ever since a 3 - 2 second leg victory over Villarreal sealed their spot in UEFA's showpiece game.

Supporters embarking on the odyssey to Paris have plotted routes utilising all available forms of transport as they take whatever measures necessary to see the Reds play their third cup final of the season. However, there are a few key details fans must remember to ensure they enjoy a hassle free trip as LFC bid to cap off a memorable campaign in style.

Coronavirus restrictions

LFC fans must adhere to strict covid requirements to enter France. The country has been plunged into lockdown three times, and some restrictions were recently reintroduced after cases rose steadily again.

What Reds' supporters must do before entering France depends on your vaccination status. Fully vaccinated travellers aged 12 and above must provide proof of vaccination status on entry to France.

France will accept the UK’s proof of Covid-19 recovery and vaccination record at the border. The French Government recognises any vaccination certificates that conform to EU norms. This means your final dose must have been administered at least seven days prior to travel for Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna or 28 days after a second dose of Johnson & Johnson.

As of March 31, travellers from the UK aged 12 and above who are not fully vaccinated need to provide a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours or an antigen test result taken within 48 hours pre-departure. All children under 12 are exempt from covid travel

Pollution fines

Anyone travelling to Paris by car has been warned over rules that could land them with a fine of up to 130 euros.

Paris is a restricted traffic area, meaning all vehicles travelling in the French capital must carry a "Crit'Air" anti-pollution sticker. The stickers determine each vehicle's carbon emissions.

Anyone driving a vehicle through Paris without one of these stickers can be fined. Penalties currently range from 68 to 135 euros. The stickers can be obtained here and cost 4 euros, or around £3.50.

Passport

Anyone travelling to Paris must ensure they have a valid passport. Liverpool John Lennon Airport issued a reminder to fans earlier this week and included the criteria required for a passport to be valid.

It said: "Your passport must be: Issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country. Valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave."

LJLA also urged fans to consult the latest entry requirements that anyone travelling to France must follow.

Shorts

It may have been a rainy day on Merseyside today, but the outlook is looking a lot more optimistic across the Channel. The current BBC forecast expects temperatures in the French capital to reach around 20C on Saturday.

The outlook said: "Sunny and a moderate breeze." Liverpool FC fans will be hoping for similar conditions to the glorious sunshine they enjoyed in Madrid ahead of their most recent Champions League triumph in 2019.

Singing voices

Fans lucky enough to get a ticket will need to bring their singing voice to create an atmosphere to remember as Jurgen Klopp's side aim to exact revenge on Real Madrid for the 2018 Champions League final defeat in Kiev.
