By now you should’ve heard about TOPCOURT. If not, which rock have you been living under?? I jest, I jest.
ICYMI, TOPCOURT is the Australian Open’s brand new activation space that’s the place to hang out this tennis season. Everyone knows that watching tennis games is only half of the fun of the Australian Open and this year, the team have gone BIG on this sentiment.
There’s seriously so much to do over the two-week tournament so read on and get ready to send this link to the group chat.
What’s TOPCOURT?
Located at Birrarung Marr Middle Terrace, TOPCOURT has been created for Gen Z tennis fans. It has everything you could want in a fun day out at the AO including sports, gaming, beauty, food and drinks, live music and podcast performances. You also don’t need to pay the big bucks to get in. A Ground Pass will give you all-day access to TOPCOURT and beyond.
Everyday there’s a stacked line-up for you to pick and choose from as you mosey from game-to-game. Plus, the AO is even giving away double passes to the highly coveted Women’s Finals (which normally start from $399) and AO LIVE (where you’ll see Kesha, Armand Van Helden and more play).
Get your mullets out, register here and then head to the Andre Agassi look-alike comp on January 18 at 2pm to be in with a chance at winning the tix.
Who are your hosts?
Throughout the week, a number of your fave internet creators and personalities will be bringing the energy and good vibes to TOPCOURT.
James Parr, Kat Sasso, Louis Hanson, Lavender Baj, Celeste Joan and Tammy Christina will all be at Centre Stage running you through the day and making sure you’re never left twiddling your thumbs as you wait for Kokkinakas to play.
They’ll also be the friendly faces who introduce the live performances at Centre Stage.
What are the performances?
From 10am every day, there’ll be some interactive game play and chat with the best in the Australian gaming industry. Hosts William “Digital” Zhang, Jake “Kitfox” Punton and Gemma Driscoll will be on stage creating some good old-fashioned competition in a bunch of sports-themed video games.
Then, from 12pm, settle in for Mic Drops, a 45-minute chat with some big names in the podcasting game including She’s On The Money, Missing Perspectives, Swag On The Beat and Culture Club*.
As well as podcast chats, there’ll also be DJ “Aux-Court Battles” and live music featuring Emily Wurramara, Lotte Gallagher, Kye, Austin Mackay, Thandi Phoenix, Holly Hebe, Queenie, Keelan Mack, Shreta and Squid The Kid. Phew!
What else is there to do?
You want more?? Okay, we got you. In between the tennis games and performances you can also get your nails AO ready with Buff Studio (blue and white, ofc), and stock up on your beauty essentials at MECCA. There’s also makeup chairs for you to get full glam before watching Naomi Osaka smash it.
