Adrian Heath has spoken of his pride after his Minnesota United side stunned Everton at the Allianz Field on Wednesday night.
A strong Everton team were dismantled 4-0 after Heath’s side raced into a three goal lead at the break. It was the Blues’ second defeat in two matches on their pre-season tour of the US.
Minnesota opened the scoring when Emanuel Reynoso converted from the spot in the 18th minute after Tom Davies gave a penalty away for handball. The hosts doubled their lead when Michael Keane turned the ball into his own net before Luis Amarilla made it 3-0 on 36 minutes.

Abu Danladi then grabbed a fourth goal for the hosts 12 minutes from time after Frank Lamaprd rang the changes in the second period. Speaking afterwards Heath, who won two First Division titles, the FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup during his time at Goodison Park, was quick to label the occasion a 'special night' for his club.
He said: “Terrific night. I was really pleased with the second group as well considering there were a lot of young guys there, probably the biggest game they have ever played in.
“It's been a really good evening. I wanted us to maintain the current form we've been going in and I thought we were excellent, there was some really good stuff.
“We scored some quality goals, had some good performances - especially with some of the youngster guys - so it's been a really good evening.
“It's a huge part of my life, Everton Football Club. Everyone knows how much the game means to me.
“It's a special night for us. Thanks to all the supporters who have turned out in great numbers and the players have done really well and given them something to cheer.”
