Ireland wing Mack Hansen has ignited the rivalry with England ahead of their Grand Slam-deciding clash, claiming "everyone hates England".
The Australian-born flyer moved to Ireland in 2021 and has a Cork-born mother. Since then he has established himself as a nailed on starter in Andy Farrell's team, along with fellow winger James Lowe. After two man-of-the-match performances in a row, it will be Hansen's first appearance against England.
Speaking after Ireland's victory over Scotland at Murrayfield, the 24-year-old explained he understands the rivalry, despite his heritage.
"I don't know if I should say too much. There's a fair bit of hatred, isn't there?
"It's good, though, because once the game is done they are good lads like everyone else.
"That s**t happened... how long ago now? But it does add a bit of fire to the game. I was unlucky that I didn't get to play last year, so fingers crossed I get to play next Saturday."
The Connacht man was then asked about his awareness of the rivalry in Australia.
"I think everybody hates England in general. It's something I was aware of for sure.
"I'm so pumped for it. It's going to be a great week, one to take in and savour. I'm so excited for it, especially at home on Paddy's Day. It's going to be unbelievable. I was unlucky that I didn't get to play last year, so fingers crossed I get to play on Saturday."
Ireland face England on the final day of the Guinness Six Nations at 5pm in Dublin. Should Ireland win, it will be their first Grand Slam in five years.
